About the service
FPL Butler is a fan-made web application that generates weekly summaries for Fantasy Premier League mini-leagues. The numbers — standings, stats and records — are free to use; the Butler's AI-written content is unlocked with a one-time season pass. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Premier League, Fantasy Premier League, or any associated entity.
Paid content
Parts of the service can be unlocked with a one-time season pass. Purchases are governed by the Purchase Terms.
AI-generated content
All commentary, awards, and analysis are generated by an artificial intelligence model. The content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or opinions that do not reflect reality. It is provided for entertainment purposes only and should not be relied upon for decision-making.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that FPL Butler will be available, accurate, or error-free at any time.
Limitation of liability
FPL Butler and its creators shall not be held liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service or its content.
Acceptable use
You may use FPL Butler for personal, non-commercial purposes. Automated scraping, reselling of content, or any use that disrupts the service is not permitted.
Changes to the service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue FPL Butler at any time, with or without notice.
Privacy Policy
FPL Butler is a fan-made web application that generates weekly summaries for Fantasy Premier League mini-leagues. This section explains how the service handles data when you use fplbutler.app.
FPL Butler processes two categories of data:
- Account data: information you provide when you create an account, such as your email address, display name, notification preferences, and league subscriptions. This data is private and protected by your login.
- Public FPL league data: manager names, team names, scores, transfers, and other statistics fetched from the official Fantasy Premier League API. This is the same data visible in the FPL app itself.
What we process and why
User accounts
You can create an account using email and password or by signing in with Google. When you register, a profile is automatically created that stores your email address, display name, and preferred notification language. You can also subscribe to one or more FPL leagues to receive email notifications when new summaries are ready.
League data from the FPL API
When you enter a league code, we fetch publicly available data from the official Fantasy Premier League API: things like manager names, team names, scores, transfers, and captain choices. We use this data to generate your league summary and store it in snapshots so you can revisit previous gameweeks.
Email notifications
If you subscribe to a league, we send you an email when the weekly summary is ready. We keep a log of sent notifications to avoid sending duplicates. You can turn notifications on or off at any time in your settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any notification email.
iOS app & push notifications
FPL Butler also exists as an iOS app. When you enable push notifications, we store your device's push token (used by the Apple Push Notification service), your chosen league ID(s), and your language preference in our database. This is used solely to send you a notification when your league summaries are ready. The token is removed or disabled when you unsubscribe or turn off notifications. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app, or via iOS Settings → Notifications. Apple (APNs) processes the delivery of these notifications on our behalf.
Feedback
If you use the feedback form, we store your message, your email address (if you choose to provide it), the page you were on, and basic browser information. This helps us understand and respond to your feedback.
Recently visited leagues
Your browser remembers up to three league IDs you've recently visited, so you can quickly return to them. This stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
Anonymous usage statistics
We collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (such as page views and feature usage) to understand how the service is used and to improve it. No cookies or persistent identifiers are stored in your browser for this purpose, and IP addresses are anonymised before processing. This is based on our legitimate interest in understanding service usage (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Technical error data
If something breaks, we use a third-party tool to automatically log what went wrong: things like which browser and device you're using. This helps us find and fix bugs. No personal details are intentionally collected as part of this.
Standard server logs
Like any website, our servers automatically record basic technical information about incoming requests (such as IP addresses) as part of normal operations. This data is handled by our hosting provider.
AI-generated content
The Butler's commentary is generated using an AI service. To do this, league data, including managers, teams and round statistics, is sent to the AI provider. This data is used only to generate your summary and is not used to train AI models.
Third-party services
FPL Butler relies on a small number of trusted third-party services to function. They process data only on our behalf and only for the purposes below:

We don't sell data to anyone, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you're in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you.
- To request access to or a copy of your data, email us.
- To delete your account, email us. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, league subscriptions, and notification history.
- We aim to respond to all requests within 30 days.
