Overall rank and arrows

Overall rank is cumulative. It covers the whole season to date, so it moves slowly once millions of teams are separated by a handful of points, and a single good weekend rarely transforms it. Gameweek rank is the same measure over one gameweek only, which is why you can have a gameweek rank in the thousands while your overall rank barely shifts.

Everyone is scored on the same fixtures, so your rank only moves relative to what the field owns. Holding the template keeps you level with the crowd, and the ground you gain or lose comes from the picks where you differ from it.

An arrow is nothing more than the direction of travel between two gameweeks. A red arrow after a decent score simply means the field scored better, which is why arrows are a weak signal on their own and a useful one over a run of gameweeks. From 2026/27 the season history page also shows your rank as a percentage of all teams, which is easier to read at a glance than a seven digit number.

Overall rank now updates live while matches are being played, so the number you see on a Sunday afternoon is provisional. It keeps moving as later matches finish and as bonus points are confirmed, and the rank worth judging yourself on is the one after the gameweek is final.
