Free Hit
Free Hit is a Fantasy Premier League chip that gives you unlimited transfers for one gameweek at no points cost, and then returns your squad to exactly what it was before at the next deadline. It buys you a one week team, not a permanent one.
What it is for
The classic use is a blank gameweek, where too few of your players have a fixture to field a legal eleven worth watching. Free Hit lets you build a full team of players who do play, take the points, and hand the borrowed squad back. The second common use is a heavy double gameweek, loading up on clubs that play twice.
Free Hit and Wildcard are the two unlimited transfer chips, but they are opposites: a Wildcard changes your squad permanently, a Free Hit changes it for one gameweek and then undoes itself.
What it leaves behind
Nothing. Price rises and falls during the Free Hit gameweek do not stick to the borrowed players, your team value returns with the squad, and any free transfer you had saved is still there afterwards. That makes it the lowest consequence chip in the game and, for the same reason, the easiest one to waste on an ordinary week.
Example
Six of your players blank in a cup weekend. You play the Free Hit, field eleven players with fixtures, score 58 points instead of an estimated 30, and get your original squad back for the following gameweek.
